Jessica joined the Pythia team as a Senior Strategist in the fall of 2024. Most recently, she worked as a Press Secretary at the Center for Reproductive Rights, where she helped shape messaging and fact-based reporting on the organization’s litigation, as well as two significant Supreme Court cases. A lifelong New Yorker and advocate, Jessica is committed to making the city and state she loves more just for everyone here. After several years as a freelance journalist covering maternal health care, abortion access, and care work in New York, she became Communications Director for Assemblymember Jessica González-Rojas. In that role, Jessica helped advance legislation to expand Medicaid coverage to all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status, and establish a Reproductive Freedom and Equity Fund, among other bills. She worked alongside the Assemblymember and broader coalitions on issues related to LGBTQ+ rights, labor, climate, transportation, disability justice, and racial and gender inequities. She also wet her feet in organizing with the New York State Legislative Workers Union.
In her role as Senior Strategist at Pythia, Jessica looks forward to combining her love of policy, politics, and media with her experience using strategic communications to advance social causes, particularly here in New York. She has a Masters in Public Administration from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, where she specialized in Urban Social Policy and Gender and Public Policy. Jessica is also a very proud graduate of Barnard College and frequently boasts about living within walking distance of most of her Barnard friends. Her most treasured title is “Tata” to her 5 year-old nephew and 2 year-old niece, who unfortunately live several exits away on the BQE.
